Cheese Maker

Family owned and operated for more than half a century, Springside Cheese is dedicated to preserving the craft of artisan cheesemaking, keeping the passion for handcrafted alive and well. Redefining the relationship with food, we hold dear the traditions passed down through the generations.  

We are looking for individuals, who are as crazy about all things cheese as we are, to embark on the adventure that is artisan cheesemaking. 

Prior cheesemaking or manufacturing experience is unnecessary – we will happily train the right person(s) in the art of making cheese the old-fashioned way, creating real products, and nourishing our community. Familiarity with kitchen work, cheese mongering, and farm operations are all pluses. Excitement for all things cheese-related, dedication, a love for learning, and a hardworking attitude are all necessities. With our support, the ideal candidate will have or have plans to acquire the Wisconsin Cheese Maker’s License within 18 months of being hired. 

From terroir to tongue, your main focus will be making cheese, but will also include following established food and plant safety procedures, operating and cleaning cheese production equipment, and quality control of both products and documentation.
