Our cheesemaker is moving back to Switzerland, and we are looking for the right person to work with her for 6 months and then take over the cheesemaking operation. She has built the program so that we make 5 great cheeses that we sell at our local farmers markets, our store, and a little bit of wholesale.  The cheese team is made up of 2 people, one person primarily makes the cheese, while the other cuts, wraps, and coordinates sales. We are looking for the cheesemaker.

This is an opportunity to join a small and passionate group of people making the highest quality traditional food.  We also make whole grain sourdough bread and old school French style fruit jam.

Currently we make cheese 2 days a week, using milk that we pick up from a local farm that milks a small herd of primarily Ayrshire cows. Our batch size is from 325 to 425 gallons of milk.  Cheesemaking equipment and aging rooms are state of the art.

In this position you will be responsible for the cheesemaking from start to finish.  You must enjoy working independently, like keeping good records and really like working in a clean and neat environment.
