Cheesemaker

Walla Walla Cheese Company is seeking a Cheesemaker to join our team. This is an exciting learning opportunity to be an important part of all aspects of the artisan cheesemaking process. Our staff are also encouraged to create unique cheese and ice cream flavors for our flavor curious customers. 

This position is located in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, in the heart of the Walla Walla Valley at the base of the Blue Mountains. Our beautiful valley is about four hours from Seattle, Portland, Boise and Spokane, and is known for world-class restaurants and wineries, cultural activities, shopping and outdoor activities of all kinds.

Job Responsibilities

• Use your skills to assist in every part of the cheesemaking process, including production, aging, and packaging.
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness and quality standards are met.
• Assist in product and inventory management.
• Staff retail space as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have excitement for learning about and working with locally produced dairy products.
• Preferably have food service/ production, and food safety experience, but we will train the right person.
• Demonstrate a commitment to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness, sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Be a hard working self-starter.
  Work collaboratively with our fun and supportive team members.

Hours & Compensation:

• 40 Hours per week with flexibility available.
• Hourly compensation DOE.
