Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Creamery Assistant to join our team at North Sky Farm. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn in-depth about creamery setup, cheese production, and organic certification. As a Creamery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our current capacity expansion project by assisting with establishing our new creamery space. This Fall this will involve basic construction tasks, assisting with setting up and installing new equipment, protocol and product testing, and cheesemaking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup of the creamery, including equipment installation and construction tasks.
• Complete building and maintenance projects as assigned.
• Engage in routine maintenance and cleaning of creamery equipment and facilities.
• Work collaboratively with the team to improve processes and contribute to overall farm operations.
• Participate in the cheese-making process, including ingredient preparation, curd handling, and aging procedures.
• Follow and enforce sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Conduct product testing to ensure quality and consistency of our dairy products.
• Support other farm activities as needed, including outdoor tasks and general maintenance.
• Schedule is Mon-Fri 8-4

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic with a sense of responsibility.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Basic construction or handyman skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in sustainable dairy.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
