Summary: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for meeting annual sales goals and key account objectives set by the Sales Director for an assigned domestic geographic region. The sales manager will build and maintain industry relationships, acting as an ambassador for Cypress Grove image, culture, history, and products. They will report directly to the Cypress Grove Sales Director. This remote position requires the candidate to live near a major Eastern Seaboard airport and involves significant domestic and occasional international travel. 

Increase Distribution and Sales in Assigned Territory 70%

  • Leverage personal performance data, industry trends, and client feedback to meet all sales and account goals as defined by the Sales Directors. Goals are subject to change throughout the year based upon the market environment and Cypress Grove’s business needs.
  • Provide recommendations to Sales Directors for the development of programs, sales targets, and critical milestones for region.
  • Mange extended brokerage network to support sales goals in assigned territory.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key account contacts, distributors and event organizers.
  • Implement sales programs including promotions, features, and sales incentives.
  • Forecast management and analysis.
  • Identify and pursue new business.

 

Public Relations and Outreach 20%

  • Schedule and facilitate product and company trainings for distributors and retailers.
  • Plan and participate in trade shows and industry, trade, consumer, and distributor events.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity, consumer patterns, and product quality, acting as the eyes of Cypress Grove in the region.

Administrative 10%

  • Attend scheduled meetings and regularly report sales activities to Sales Directors.
  • Work with internal Cypress Grove partners (specifically customer service, marketing, finance, and operations) to ensure territory performance objectives and customer expectations are met.
  • Monitor distributor performance and proactively assess and ensure account and customer requests or complaints are resolved.
  • Remain informed about specialty food industry developments including those affecting distributors, retailers, and competitors in the region.
  • Proactive planning for trade promotions, sales support requests, and travel.

Work Environment         

The Cypress Grove sales environment will vary from those expected in a home office to those encountered in travel accommodations and on client properties. The environment may at times be hotter or colder, wetter, and more humid than is typical in an average working environment.

Physical Demands          

The demands described here are representative of those Sales Managers encounter.

  • Remain stationary for extended periods of time at a workstation desk, or in an upright position at a trade show or event (may exceed 8 hours), operating a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
  • Navigate to and move about inside Cypress Grove headquarters and client properties in a geographic region. This may require ground or air transportation domestically and internationally.
  • Communicate over the phone and in writing through resources such as mail, email, instant message, text.
  • Position self to properly complete the task at hand. This may involve turning all or parts of the body or bending downward to place or reach an object at a lower level.
  • Extend above the shoulder to place or retrieve objects.
  • Ability to grasp, raise, lower and/or move objects of assorted sizes and weights:
      • Individually regularly manipulate objects weighing up to 20lbs
      • Occasionally with assistance manipulate objects weighing up to 30lbs.

Skills/Experience             

Minimum of 5 years of outside sales / marketing experience.

Bachelor’s degree preferred, preference given to degrees in Business or related field.             

2+ years’ experience working with specialty food preferred. ACS CCP a plus.

Digital literacy with skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Sales aptitude including problem solving, relationship building, ethical decision making, negotiation, and closing.
