Production Assistant

Traders Point Creamery - Zionsville, IN
Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly
Application Deadline: Jul 31, 2025
Creamery

Traders Point Creamery, Indiana’s first Certified Organic Dairy Farm, has an opening to join our production staff.

Traders Point Creamery produces award-winning cheeses, milk and ice cream from organic, 100% grass-fed, non-homogenized milk. We started bottling and selling milk directly to customers in the central Indiana region in the summer of 2003! We now produce several artisan dairy products made in small batches, using traditional methods.

The production position is multi-faceted, but it’s essentially to make the products we sell onsite in our farm store and restaurant. This position is primarily, but not limited to, the production and bottling and/or packaging of whole milk, chocolate milk, seasonal eggnog, ice creams, and fresh soft cheeses such as fromage blanc and fromage frais.

As the production employee; you would be responsible for the set-up and sanitization of process equipment, post-production disassembly and cleaning. You will also assist the Head Cheesemaker as needed in the production of our aged cheeses and maintain the cheeses in our aging cave. This entails ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness by following proper sanitization procedures as outlined during an extensive 6 month training process. You must accurately and completely abide by company good manufacturing practices, standard operating procedures and standard sanitation operating procedures for recording required data and paperwork related to all company and governmental reporting. You must be able to distinguish if food safety violations or product quality issues occur and resolve immediately by having strong communication skills with the Head Cheesemaker when issues arise. These tasks are multi-disciplinary, involving recording milk volume, obtaining raw milk samples, running antibiotic drug residue tests, recording pasteurization and cleaning charts, as well as collecting and washing the returned milk bottles.

This position requires the ability to work independently and with a small team: being able to prioritize tasks for efficiency and to be equipped with some technical skills. Our company mission is to craft the healthiest and highest quality dairy products and a strong attention to detail is required to meet those standards.

When all is done well properly, it is very rewarding to see the products you have made be enjoyed by our guests in both The Loft restaurant and on-site Farm Store.
